Community Outreach

At Woodhouse LLC our service-oriented mindset carries over into our local and international communities through outreach projects and volunteer opportunities. We are committed to contributing to society in a manner which betters the lives of others. Here is a sampling of our volunteer involvement:

 

  • Sadie G. Mays Health & Rehabilitation Center
    Sam is a former member of the Board of Directors of Sadie G. Mays Health & Rehabilitation Center, a nursing home named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best nursing homes in the United States for 2011. 
     
  • Ethics Commission of the Board of Education of the Atlanta Independent School System
    Sam is a former member of the Ethics Commission of the Atlanta Board of Education.
     
  • Alcohol Beverage Licensing and Appeals Board of the City of Brookhaven
    Sam is a former member of the Alcohol Board of the City of Brookhaven. He was appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. 
     
  • Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (“GABWA”) and Gate City Bar Association
    Sam is a former member of the Board of Directors of the GABWA Foundation. In April 2008, based on Sam's vision and leadership, GABWA created the Professional Development Academy (“The Academy”). The Academy is an intensive, four-week professional development program that prepares young attorneys (five years or less of practice) and law students (second and third year students) for a successful career that includes leadership and service. Students meet twice per week for two hours and are exposed to top leaders in the legal profession and business community. In 2009, the Academy won the National Council of Women's Bar Association's (NCWBA) 2009 Outstanding Member Program Award. Also, Sam is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Gate City Bar Association.
     
  • A.T. Walden Outstanding Lawyer's Award
    In 2016 Sam received the A.T. Walden Outstanding Lawyer's Award from the Gate City Bar Association.
     
  • 2018 Commitment to Equality Award
    In 2018 Sam received the Commitment to Equality Award from the Committee to Promote Inclusion in the Profession of the State Bar of Georgia.
     
  • GABWA Professional Development Academy Visionary Award
    On April 12, 2018 Sam received the GABWA Professional Development Academy Visionary Award.
